    What veggies do chickens like?

Hi, my three hens don’t like any vegetables I've given them, eg. kale, leafy greens, apple, pumpkin etc. . I’d love some suggestions for things that they’d enjoy. Thanks :)

    Chicks scuffing food everywhere

Hi everyone! I’ve got some 2 week old chicks who have been getting very lively. They have been standing in their feeder and kicking the food everywhere. I had a rooster who used to do this when he was a baby, none of the girls did it, does that have any relation to rooster behaviour or do some...

    Egg developing slow

Hi, I am incubating four eggs in my incubator, and 3 of them are doing great but 1 seems to be developing but a lot slower than the others. So there is a chick inside and it’s day 18 but it is way behind as if it’s been in there for a week only. Should I leave it in? Will it explode? The two...

Stuff coming out of hens mouth

Hi everyone! My hen recently started laying and a few days ago I noticed some white, watery liquid came out of her mouth. I looked it up and I was pretty sure it was fine. Today I saw some brown liquid. Very watery. It has been rainy and it’s a bit muddy around the chicken coop run so could be...

    Constant clucking

H everyone! So my 6 month old Light Sussex hen laid her first egg 2 days ago (and hasn’t laid since) and my rooster also mated her twice in that time. Now I’m noticing her doing constant, short bocks that shake her back and bottom and she is doing it a LOT. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks!

    Laying in nesting box

Hi everyone, First time chicken owner here, My 6 month old Sussex girls laid their first eggs today overnight. However, they haven’t laid them in their nesting box which has been in the coop since they moved with some pine shavings in it and we keep it quite clean. How will they know to lay in...

    Rooster crowing getting worse

Hi everyone! I have a rooster who is 23 weeks old, he has just started crowing about a week ago. He was just getting the hang of the rhythm of a crow when I noticed he seemed to have a sore throat or maybe losing his voice? I'm not sure if this is normal as I haven't owned a rooster before...

My rooster won't go in the coop

Hi everyone, I have 4 chickens (3 hens and 1 rooster), they are 21 weeks old and I'm having a bit of trouble with my rooster. They live in a little coop and I let them roam around my back yard for a few hours everyday. They used to all go back into the coop when playtime was over for the day...

Weird feathers on my Coronation Sussex (19 weeks)

Hi everyone! I noticed that my 19 week old Coronation Sussex has developed weird spread out, curly feathers, are these saddle feathers? The picture of the coronation Sussex with the bigger and redder comb and wattles is the same age but different back feathers, to compare with. Thanks in advance!

    Layer feed

Hi everyone! Just wondering what the best layer feed is for our 16 week old chickens? We have the Peckish brand at our local Petbarn and we found these three layer feeds, not sure what the difference is between them all: Free range layer mix which appears to be just a mix of grains and seeds...

    My Wyandotte keeps falling over

Hi everyone, my Silver laced wyandotte (13 weeks old), has swollen knees and she keeps falling backwards/stumbling. It's been happening for about a week now, we have been letting her (or him?) out of her coop often and making sure she eats things other than just her chick food. She hasn't seemed...
