I have two pullets (I hope) that are ten weeks old. Is there a way to tell pullet or rooster? Photos below. The first three are Blue Copper Marans, and the others are the Blue Rock. Thank you.
This is a two month old Blue Copper Marans pullet. I know all breeds are different, but, her comb and wattle are definitely redder than our other three pullets (different breeds). Would additional photos of her feathers help to determine the sex?
We have a chicken run attached to our coop. Hardware cloth is under the fencing to discourage digging. The entire run is covered with chicken wire and wire fencing. I had placed bricks on the outside of the fencing all around the run. Yesterday I discovered that something had managed to move...
These three chicks are now four weeks old. Can anyone tell the likely sex of them? Any help would be appreciated. They are numbered, and the supposed breed name.
We have three chicks that are the same age (the Rhode Island Blue is a couple of days older). They are all getting wing and tail feathers at different rates. Can the sex of any be evident yet? See photos below.
#1, 2, and the last one are the Rhode Island Blue, #3, 4, 5 the Australorp, and #6...
More recent photos of our five day old chicks. Individual photos of their faces and wings. Any help is greatly appreciated. One and two are the same chick. Three is a different breed, four and five are the same chick.
We ordered four chicks with a friend, none labeled. We ordered an Australorp, a Blue Rock, a Rhode Island Blue, and a Golden Cuckoo Marans (it hasn’t come in). We think one chick is. Welsummer. Are the other three what we ordered?
It’s good to be back and a part of a community where others have backyard chickens, too. After several years of not having chickens, we decided to order some chicks this spring. We live in Maine, so they have to be hardy breeds! I’m sure that I will have many questions later.
