This bird has thicc legs, bigger comb, and is kinda acting like a jerk. Wing grabbing, chasing, stalking, really over the top behavior. I suspect roo or screw loose. Any opinions? Last picture "Winnie" is in the middle of EE pullet and bantam boy. 10 week old EE from TSC pullet bin. Not straight...
I got lucky today. Just putting out PSA about bantams and chick gel from hatchery. Skip it. I nearly lost one from it getting lodged in her throat. I spent 45 minutes alternating breaks and massage on throat to crop. Might be a one off, but not worth the risk.
I've got a few boys here I'd be into rehoming. We got two straight run bantams batches this spring. Extra boys here if anyone likes the bantams. Old English and buff brahmas(guessing). The OEGbantams are around 6 weeks and the BBbantams are around 3 weeks.
Wondering if anyone else has this issue, has solved this issue... My birds free range daily, starting around lunchtime. Before that, they are in a coop/run. If I let my girls out at lunch time, I might not get all my eggs. I've noticed them going under my shed to lay eggs, going behind a box on...
Always wondering what I'll find each day in the coop. Will there be eggs? How many? Any broken?
Out of my 7 hens(maybe 8 😉), I usually have 3-5 eggs a day. On a good day I'll have 6. I let them out of the run around lunchtime. I occasionally do find yard eggs.
What about all of you guys? What...
Hi everybody 🤠
Last spring we started our adventure of chicken keeping.
We've got 7 hens and 1 rooster. We're currently brooding 6 bantam chicks and getting ready to incubate.
I'm happy to be here with all of you, finally. After using Google for the past year, I decided it was time to find...
I'm skeptical but my husband seems to think this is a good guess for sexing chicks(2-3 weeks old).
He says, if you pick up a chick and it's legs dangle carefree -Cockerel. If they tuck their legs up to their tummy, pullet.
Anyone able to add credibility to this?
Good morning, fellow cluckers!
I'm new to the site. 5 RIR hens, 1 RIR roo, 2 EE hens and 6 miscellaneous bantam chicks brooding. Going to attempt incubating my standard eggs this spring. This is one of our hens. This is one super sweet cuddle bug we call Henny.
