Our chicks hatched on June 6th. Third time raising chicks in a brooder and these 9 are messy!! They’re honestly bigger than my other flocks were at this age. My partner wants to move them outdoors to our small chicken coop/run. It’s attached to our main chicken run, so they’ll get some...
I see so many answers on this.
Today is day 20 and all of the chicks minus 2 have hatched. The first one hatched around eight in the morning, and they have continued to hatch throughout the day. How long can I leave them in there before I open it to transfer them to the Brooder? Most of them...
Update: I used a paper towel and absorbed some of the moisture in the channel without opening the incubator. It went down one degree - hoping it helps. I don’t want anything to happen to them now. Multiple were starting to hatch last night, only one has so far. 🤞🏼
This is the first time I’m...
My one girl was attacked by a hawk this week. I keep replaying what I could’ve done to help her - wishing I went outside. We found her lifeless in the woods not far from where her feathers were. More than likely it happened shortly before we found her because my rooster was running around angry...
Unfortunately, a hawk got one of my hens last week. I’ve been keeping them in the coop and run for now until time passes, and the hawk hopefully goes elsewhere. What can I use for a dust bath in their run? It’s been raining a lot where I live and their run is muddy. Ty!
unfortunately, a hawk got one of my hens yesterday. I want to incubate her last eggs and see if I can at least let her live on through a little one. I set up the incubator this morning. Temp is 100 degrees and humidity is at 69%. How long do I wait before I put the eggs in? Anything I should...
The dreadful day happened when one of my hens was attacked. I feel horrible, blaming myself running over all the what ifs. What if I was out there, what if I called them over in enough time for them to leave the area they were in. Regardless, something got her - most likely a hawk. My other two...
This new flock is giving me a run for my money. The flock is twitching their heads, occasionally sneezing and scratching their heads.
I separated two because they were showing signs before any of the others. Well now I look and it seems like around their ears are swollen and missing feathers...
UPDATE: I ORDERED TYLOSIN FROM JEDDS THAT WILL BE HERE BY THE 29th. WISH MY FLOCK LUCK. 🤞🏼
I posted yesterday about my 5 - 6 week old chicks twitching their heads. I was holding two today and they both sneezed where clear mucus sprayed out a bit on my arm. I put vetrx, nutri drench, and poultry...
My 5-6 week old black australorp started twitching a week ago. This one is the first one that started twitching and occasionally sneezing. Despite separating them, the whole flock is now. They’ll even twitch while asleep or resting.
Treating with - vetrx, nutri drench, and poultry cell in...
