These birds of concern from my flock have been eating the same local scratch and peck's feed until now at 18-22+ weeks old. The oldest one of concern is 3.7 pounds and the 18 week olds are varying from 3.2 to 3.8. I have no knowledge of these ones being mixed (there are four). They eat around...
All my barred rock girls have a pale pink skin-like color to their combs and kind of always have. When they're playing pretty hard their ear flaps might turn pink but that's it. I've checked for ticks, they get DE in dirt baths and run. Their poos don't seem to have signs of worms when I dig...
Hello, I'm in a high-predator area with at least one major predator stopping by every afternoon! My girls are pets and I love my fluffy bums. Sadly, we've lost three already to a bobcat, who figured out where the grocery store is, who has nabbed one just 6 feet away from me! We got the idea to...
Barred rock and ameraucana mix.
My reasons for questioning are:
1st picture) Thick neck with whiter head and long neck feathers unlike sisters. Also has short wings.
2nd & 3rd picture) thick legs, which is more noticeable from a side view but dark, in fact darker than all my other chickens...
This girl is barred rock and possibly ameraucana. She has two tail feathers that curl upwards, is this sign of a male? genetic defect? I struggled to find similar cases of this happening. One leg is thicker than the other, no noticeable long/bright neck feathers, small pink comb, 15 week old.
I have two chickens, one a pullet and the other a roo, that are fairly new to my flock and have been around for a month. I noticed they were especially stinky when we picked them up, but that generally stopped after a week on our feed. They're on a premium feed with 17% protein and are still...
It started after I put them back in their box after they jumped so hard they shifted the netting off the top.
This is my third time raising chicks, and this group is blue ameraucana. One of them won't stop screaming their head off, it has been over an hour and a half, and they have no reason...
Both of these were adopted at around 2 and a half to 3 months old from the same place to add to our flock. Now could be anywhere from 3 months to four months old. Clearly a mix, but I have no clue what else except barred rock. I'm confident the one with less comb is a female, but the one with...
