Everything is supposed to be pullets and we all know TSC never gets that wrong. These babies are 6-7 weeks old. What on earth is that first brown one with the bad hairdo breed and sex? The Dominque female? Next picture New Hampshire
I have three that are feathered like the one on the left and then the mostly feathered one on the right. So, do you think I have three that will are Girls and one boy or three boys and one girl?
ETA 3 weeks later photos added a few posts down
My guinea keets are ten(ish) weeks old and have mastered flying and are like small versions of Momma Guinea now. She went in the coop last night to roost, but they couldnt figure out how to go in the gate. Same gate it has always been.,,but now I have an electric fence around the pen...not the...
I need a hot wire fence I suppose. However, the area is too large to cover the pen so the top will still be vulnerable. I lost seven pullets and five 1 week olds - Mama hen did survive. this was in the evening and I only found feathers.
Yesterday I lost one more pullet that could have occurred...
I have a few Easter Eggers that are pullets... and then there is this “pullet” that is chased and picked on by the cockerels relentlessly. My boys are at that awful teenage hormone stage where they drive everyone crazy but this seems to be the one they never stop chasing. Missing tail feathers...
Everyone is doing great, but they are supposed to be pullets and I noticed their tails are different? My first New Hampshires.
Tell me what you think..
My poor Yankee self being a farmer in Alabama. My guinea keet with the Hurt leg is gone. I searched everywhere in the pen and in the coop. It doesn’t make any sense. And then I noticed this chick looking up-
I don’t know what kind it is, where it took my guinea or what to do because it slithered...
It’s almost impossible to photograph them. Either they move or they are not in the right position with the sun :barnie
I think I know the answers but let’s hear what you think. 16 weeks old.
Multiple photos of the same two silkies.
When my son was fourteen he puffed his chest out at me one time... and though it took everything I had to bring this towering giant child of mine down, I took him down to the ground and reminded him that I was his mama. He is 27 now, and I am so very proud of the man he is and we have a great...
So many grey feathers under my cypress tree...so many feathers in the coop, and in the pen. Somebody must have been snatched and carried off...
did a visual, mentally trying to figure out which chicken these must belong to...did a head count... nobody is missing.
that means- its MOLTING season!
How many roosters do you see in this photo of butts? 13-14 weeks old.
and what of the light colored twins?
I have someone who is going to pick up my roosters tomorrow and I’m trying to guess a count. Thanks!
So today was the day. My guinea-wanna be chicken discovered the keets in the brooder cage. AND she wouldnt let any chicken in the coop. (brooder cage is in the coop).
She kept up her racket and her chasing others and her tantrum until I decided today is the day I am moving (away hahaha from her...
i have a 3?week old keet that got his toe stuck in the feather dester I was using for their snugle-nest ( the sametype feather duster I have used for all my little chicks prior). Well I dont know how long it was stuck before I came along. Could have been minutes, could have been all day.
I cant...
They are going to need new homes very soon. 12 weeks and have already started being cocky toward the pullets. I’ll start with a few let me know if you know their breed.
Rooster and one cockerel have been crowing at odd (for them) times. When I went to sit on front porch with my coffee- everything is quiet out there. But... he sees something I don’t at the woods behind the coop.
