I found the book mentioned in the subject at the library. It's by Geraldine Lux Flanagan. It documents in pictures (black and white) the chick development starting with the fertilized egg and follows it step by step to the hatched chick.
I thought that those of you who are incubating eggs...

When I checked on my chicks (1 month old) tonight, I discovered that 3 have large bare spots on their backs. Especially my silver laced polish. Poor babies. I'm so sad!!! And I'm mad at whichever chick did it. And I feel guilty that it happened. They're such sweeties (except the bad egg)...
Just kidding! They're the cutest little fluff balls ever!!!
The post office called at about 6:10 to let us know they were here. When we picked them up we found out the postal worker was waiting for her own order of chicks that was still on the truck.
