    They are different than the other chicks hatched from this batch. The only rooster i have Is a White showgirl and the hens i have are 2 black silkie hens 1 white silkie hen and 1 blue splash hen. All the other chicks hatched black and some white.

    I knew it was right in there some where. I also know they reach sexual maturity at about 250+ pounds. My larger pig was in heat about 2 weeks before we had them butchered, Or i think she was heat. She had swollen female parts. I hope the heat cycle and the extra hormones don't taint the meat any.

    I don't know how big i would let them get, we took one to over 300 live weight once and she was bad. 220 lbs is ideal live weight to butcher. Most folks butcher at 225 to 250lbs live weight. I dont remember the weight but at a certain weight they stop producing more meat and start packing on...

    The bigger pigs hanging weight was 188 and the smaller one was at 179. So that would put them at about 250lbs live weight give or take a few pounds. My fresh pork will be ready next week and my smoked meats will be ready in 2 weeks. Hickory smoked Bacon yum yum yum

    Mother hen ended up with a total of 9 chicks. She set on a total of 12 eggs, 2 eggs were clear and one piped and died in the shell. She is being a great and Very protective mother. I might need to put up a caution sign, Beware flogging hen on property.
