Thank you all and yes the turner is homeade. The two egg trays rotate front to back with the grill meat turner. I used file cabnint bars and connected the motor on a cam to the top tray and connected the top tray to the bottom tray and both trays move together at the same time.
I just built this bator and I still need to buy a timer for my turner and then its done. It holds 60 eggs at a time. Any opinions to make it better or ideas are welcome
thanks
I have not used a hot water thermostat yet but my temps in (trials) have stayed constant. What research I have done has said the distance the hot water heater thermostat is from the light is verry key to consistancy. I have adjusted mine like 100 times and it is approx two finger widths away...
Honestly I dont know I hear real good things about the hot water heater thermostat? I have not incubated in this one yet at all. I still need to buy a timer for the turner. After that ill be a hatching fool. LOL Should I upgrade?
It sounds fun! I am so ready to put eggs in my newly built bator. It will hold 60 eggs at a time. How many buddys should there be or what is the ideal number?
I just built a plwood incubator as well. I used a bbq meat rotissori motor (works great and slow) I also used a light buld socket splitter that holds to bulbs in one socket to get my heat up. Also 2 computer fans Hope this helps
I have just compleated my first homeade incubator. I used plywood and it measures 17 and a half by 17 and a half by 30 inches roughly. It holds 60 eggs at a time. I used a light bulb splitter that holds 2 bulbs from one socket. I also used the hot water heater thermostat. I have temp readings...

I have had chickens a long while but I am now just starting to build a diy incubator. My question is what are some recomended and humidity levels? I have done a lot of research and the temp needs to be 99.4 F-100.2 but what I have found is a lot of people and websites saying a lot of different...
