All I could find locally is Duramycin-10 will that work?? I will look into the Denagard, but I need something now.
Also, I was wondering if the eggs are effected by the infection, before antibiotics. Are they still safe to eat? I read that mycoplasma never really...
I noticed a few days ago that one of my hens(Margie) had a swollen eye. I looked closer and there seemed to be some tiny bubbles in the watery stuff of the eye, and was all crusty around it. I tried reading what to do about it, I cleaned off the eyelid and surrounding area with a cloth and warm...
This is the first time i have seen it happen on the EE's eggs, but the maran has layed 6-8 eggs now and they ALL have these bumps on them to varying degrees...
Do any of you know what causes my Marans eggs to do this? They are all bumpy and the bumps are mostly concentrated at the ends of the egg. Also, I just had one of EE's lay an egg with 1 or 2 bumps at the top, today. Is it too much calcium? Feed? Or disease?!?
and today one of the EE's eggs had bumps on it...
Is it too much oyster shell/baked egg shells? Or the food I am using? I give them 16% layer and I throw them a handful of scratch towards the end of the day. I plan on switching to a higher percentage feed when this one runs out.
My maran started laying eggs last week, and pretty much all of her eggs have been rough and bumpy. The bumps are mostly concentrated at the ends of the egg. Does anyone know what is causing this? Is it bad? What can I do? Here are some pictures:
Thanks!!
I have used pine shavings in the past and am currently using hay. I like both, but I have found they get the hay everywhere, in the water and food, they just love kicking and scratching it around. haha
I have had a red 150 watt light in my coop on all the time except when it is fairly nice during the day. I haven't had any problems with a decline in laying from my 4 hens. One of them that was taking forever to start laying just started today!!
