    Got my first six chickens and my grandkids named them all. My wyndotte they named Bethany. One day my granddaughter came to me and Bethany is down there crowing! He starts at 6:15 every morning crowing his heart out and we are still calling him Bethany.

    What impact will 3-4 chickens have on our yard?

    I started out with a chicken ark and six chickens. Every two or three days my wife and I would pick it up and move it over a fresh patch of grass. That way the chickens got fresh salad and they fertilized that section without being on it long enough to kill the grass.

    Thanks for all the welcome messages! Yes it is hot here. 40 straight days over 100 degrees. No rain. Saturday we are to break 30 year record of 42 straight days over 100.
