Thanks for the kind comments everyone! It was quite the project but lots of fun also. Our chickens love it. Sorry if we confused some folks but the last two pictures are the finished product. The pictures do show the tilt floors in the down position so that might have been misleading. The floors...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

I think we are interested. Have to run it past my Dear Hubbie! We miss having turkeys around. Is the Tom friendly enough to let roam around the farmyard with the chickens and barn cats?

    What predators do you have

We have racoons and day time foxes!! We also have hawks. We started with 27 chicks and let them free range during the day. We now only have 9 of the original flock. Very sad.

We are near Prince Frederick. Love to hear more info about your turkeys. We used to have Broad Breasted Bronzes. We were thinking about getting a different kind of turkey. We will go to the fair - but we don't show anything.

I was going to order some, but the shipping is as much as the eggs!! I know there is no guarantee that the eggs will...

Free Range but about to laying age, should I keep them in the run?

I have been struggling with the same issue for the last few weeks! Our hens are almost 19 weeks old now. We started finding a few eggs in interesting places a few weeks ago - right before our chicken coop was completed. I saw the post about putting white golf balls in the nesting boxes - that...
