Today on my second try incubating eggs ,sucess 2 hatchted;,Plus 1 under a broody hen So far one buckeye barred rock cross,and 2 silkies,And 17 more chances to go! We lost one hatching to Derecho,.so wre to make up for lost babies.Will update with final numbers,and maybe pics WOOHOO!
We have lost 2 in the past couple of nights.One the body cavity and head was eaten,the other just the around the groin.Iam thinkig racoon,but what else could it be?
We have 2 turkey hens and 2 gobblers,so the eggs should be fertile.Should we leave them in the coop in the hopes the hens go broody?Or should we take them out and replace them with something else?We would love to get the girls broody,but dont want to waste thier eggs,Also how long can the eggs...
