On the weekends, I will check the nest boxes and move any egg I find to a different box. This 'encourages' the girls (I have only 4...) to lay in that box. Occasionally, I will find eggs in multiple boxes because of my 'encouragement.' But with your numbers, I'd gravitate to the fake egg option...
