    He seems to be amnemic so I have ordered iron and vitimins online (can't get it locally), currently a friend is looking after him for a couple of days....she has more experience than me and runs a wild animal rescue centre and has antibiotics, painkillers and anything else he may need. H

    I have 6 nine week old runners and today I have noticed that 1 of them seems to be unsteady on his feet....sort of like he's drunk....they are still on growers, tomatoes, lettuce, mealworms, peas.....surely not a niacin problem?     We use Auboise Horse Bedding it is made of Hemp and is great for use with ducks because it locks the wet away.....here's a link telling you what it is, I am in the UK, but they may sell something similar in other countries :) H

    I put mine outside in a small chicken hut at 4 weeks and I had 8 Indian Runners and 2 Campbells, they keep each other warm because they make a big pile together :) Oh and I am in the UK where it rains ALOT and never gets above 21 C daytime and 12 C evenings, so I am sure that your 11 ducklings...

    yes I agree with you on this......I have only ever kept 2 Drakes to the ratio of 10 Females and even then, sometimes they fight but only during spring, rest of the year they are ok with each other. H

    We have had Runners for 3 years now and every one of them has always loved their pond......I find my Aylesbury's just get in for a quick wash then get out but the Runners are in and out all day long :) H

    You only need to seperate into pens if you are planning on having purebreds to breeds and sell......if like me you only want pets then keep them all together :) I have Runners, Campbells and Aylebury's together.....some offspring are runners and some are runner crosses....it makes no nevermind...

    6 week old runner duckling is a trouble maker!

    Thanks for asking Frank :) It has been 3 full days of giving supplements to the troubled duckling and "touch wood" so far she hasn't stripped anyone's feathers. We are hoping that we have caught it before she built up an habit......I will leave it for another 2 weeks before making a judgement...
