    sick chickie

I haven't been on in a long time, but your note caught my eye. I had a hen with similar sounding poop & it turned out to be a broken egg. My chickens are also pets & i splurged and took Red to the vet. She got a steroid injection & antibiotics to help her out. It helped her recover, but sadly I...

    Worming question from a newbie

Okay, went to my local TSC and they no longer carry Valbazen. Will order it online. Easiest thing to do. (save myself some gas ) I noticed my hen has some white on her ear lobes. Doesn't seem to bother her, appeared up when it was really warm this summer. Do chickens sweat?

    Worming question from a newbie

Quote: What a great quote! Thanks for sharing it. Funny thing is - I used to have a chicken in my house. My two cats adopted her as their own. It was quite the sight to see them on the couch getting ready to watch TV with me and my husband. Sadly, she passed away this June. We miss her very much.

    Worming question from a newbie

Greetings everyone - I just have two birds. A black cochin rooster, Penguin and his red sexlink partner, Red. How can you tell if your birds need to be wormed? He's moulting so he looks scruffy, she looks great. Appetites are fine and so is their energy level. I know with horses there is a...

Just wanted to post an update to the 'shed' issue I was having with my sister. She agreed to not do anymore painting in the barn and not run any type of equipment in there either. She's okay with me opening the windows to create some cross ventilation. She also warned me that the coyotes are...

Hi redsoxs - thanks for the welcome and luck for this winter. Hopefully we don't have some of those nasty subzero high wind storms like last year.

What a cool coop. I'm 50 miles north of Green Bay, WI so I need something heavier duty. I will be sure to keep you posted on things. Thanks!

Nope, the shed is in great shape. She's just a control freak who wants to be able to tell me what to do with my animals. I also have 4 horses. Would love to see a picture of your shed. Thanks!
