    Dust baths for winter.. couple questions

    I used a 55 gallon plastic barrel on its side beside the coop for the past 2 winters and they love it. Just put dirt, sand, wood ashes, DE dirt in it, they use it year around. Barrel is large enough hold lots of dusting material. I put a piece of board in front to hold the material in barrel.

    what can i buy or use for dust bath in winter?

    I used a plastic fifty five gallon barrel with top cup out of it and turned on side, fill with sand, DE dirt and wood ashes , block in place and they used it all winter just add more sand and ashes as needed.

    Hi, I was using BOSS last winter, but due to price increase I switched to Game Bird starter with protein at 22 percent. I get at local feed mill.

    coop storage area

    My building is 8 X 12 feet. coop is 8X8 feet and storage area is 4X8 feet. Holds 4 garbage can nicely, works for me.

    dust bath

    Hi, I used a 55 gallon plastic drum with the top cup out of it. Put on side beside coop in run and put DE dirt, sand, wood ashes, and potting soil in to it. Staked it in place and and put a 1X6 board in front to keep sand in and they used it all last winter.
