    What breed is she?

Wow, I can't believe that! I was looking up all of the booted-bantam breeds like crazy, but I was convinced she was a mix. So excited to add her to the flock!

    What breed is she?

Hi everybody! We volunteer at our local animal shelter and this little bantam girl was dumped there (along with a leghorn & a silkie) by somebody who didn't want them anymore :( I couldn't resist bringing them home and I'm in the process of quarantining them before adding them to my flock...

    Dogs eating chicken poo

yeah.... my dog reallllly likes eating poo. Im pretty sure thats more normal for dogs though. anyways, theres not much that I can do about it, but he doesn't ever get sick from doing it. If your chickens have something that they would pass on I would be pretty careful.

Went out to collect eggs and found...

Interesting. My cat is also part maine coon. She doesn't really like the chickens because they all like to talk to me A LOT when I'm out with them, but when they're free ranging she LOVES to go inside the coop. I have never caught her sitting on eggs (I wish!), but she definitely likes it in there.

    Mommy what is this!!!!

Lol! When we lived in oregon where it did snow we didn't have chickens... but I tried to introduce my cat to the snow and after one very nervous minute she ran inside under the bed and wouldn't come out for the rest of the day.

    non-leathal hawk deterant

My chickens free range in my orchard... so the hawks can't really get at them. I am also very lucky to have two little VERY angry birds that attack the hawks from the top of a nearby redwood tree every time they get anywhere nearby. There is also a little jacket that you can buy that will...
