I am on the shores of Lake Ontario in Upstate NY...I bring the chickens into an unheated garage as it we would likely lose the coop in the snow. It is not unusual to get over three hundred inches of snow per year here.

I keep my chickens in a detached garage in the winter...I have a paper shredder in there and a wet dry vac nearby the coop. Very convenient and no problems.

So...essentially, the pens turn into gardens? That sounds interesting.
