Good to know you still have some. I've culled down to just 6 hens and 2 roosters that hatched from the eggs I got from you. I was able to get a rooster from a local breeder and I'm anxious to see what his chicks will look like. They are beautiful birds, but there is so much work to be done.
I've been busy building breeding pens and sorting breeders. I read, I don't post so much, there's a lot of people on here with a lot more knowledge than me. I've got 43 9 week old chicks that look alot like Seattleleah's chick.
Cheryl, do you still have your Mille Fleur Leghorns?

3. Roosters 8 1/2 lbs Hens 6 1/2 lbs These are averages...
I've had the same problem finding some of these. I found the gold mille fleur leghorns and am breeding those, but still looking for the 55-flowery leghorns. Here is a 'recipe' I found for them that I saved. I don't really understand it all, so would welcome any discussion. I don't have the...
I don't either, but in an earlier post he was looking for breeders in eastern Oklahoma. I thought maybe he had found someone, especially after you asked where he got them. I was thinking 14 out of 18 is to good for shipped eggs, but maybe not.
I see your in eastern Oklahoma. I'm in western Arkansas. Did you get the eggs shipped or did you find some locally? I would really be interested in finding some locally.
Basically you need to cover any opening (it maybe a opossum now and a rat next time) with either hardware cloth or wood. Sounds like since your door opens to the inside you might attach some 1X4's or 1X6's to the door frame so the door will shut against them.
As for the opossum more than...
A pic of my Mille Fleur Leghorns. Thanks Cheryl for the eggs. The two larger eggs are from my White Leghorns, the rest are Mille Fleur Leghorns. Goin add a little color to the Leghorn flock.
