Is anyone heading out to the poultry show in Fallon on the 18, 19, or 20th? "The Magazine" has asked me to travel out and cover it. I'd love to meet up with a few people there.
Hi, everyone. I'm checking in. Life has been pretty crazy over here, but all in good ways. It looks like the board has slowed down a little bit. := But Sheryl and Chickee are definitely keeping it alive!
I hope the babies stay safe! We use the mini-coop for babies, because I don't trust the local predators. Though my husband's dog has been the worst predator of them all! We finally built a fence to protect them, but today my buff orp pullet flew over the fence and got shredded. It was gruesome...
So I'm up and writing for "The Magazine," though my first blog post is awaiting editorial approval. I'm working on some more for the database, for future publication. To those of you who have expressed interest in writing for me, please feel free to submit your articles to me at any time. I...
Good news on the neighbor, Sheryl!
Regarding the receptionist by Arlington... That's funny. Someone else who lives by Arlington has roosters. I wonder if she hears them and gets all steamed that someone is getting away with it!
Oh, I'm signing the contacts with "The Magazine" this week...
Super easy. If you see them turn yellow and start to die, let me know. Mine will be doing the same thing, though. It will be sometime in September, probably, and the ones by the fence will be latest.
Yay! Make sure we're there to help you dig them up, or it won't be an equal share at the end. I'm so excited! The potatoes over here are doing well, too. I wanted to top the dirt hills with straw, but that's kind of hard to do with no truck.
6:15 or 4:15... either is good, as long as we know what time. My family will be walking about 3 miles to get there.
It's been super quiet on the boards!
Things are going ok over here. I lost a rabbit to the heat. It was my registered satin chinchilla doe, so I'm disappointed. Too bad it...
Good morning! This is not chicken-related, so I'll make it short. I'm doing a 4-hour author focus event on Facebook, where I talk about my work and do a cover reveal for my book. If you're interested in checking it out, send me a PM and I will send you the link. Thanks!
The magazine would like blog posts between 300-1000 words long. And you can write it and give it to me, and I'll keep it until I need it. The site isn't even up for the magazine yet, since the magazine is still working out the bugs and the contracts.
I saw SunnyDawn on Tuesday. I can't say on...
I have a chick that turned into a rooster, plus some older birds that could use processing. If you're fine with coming down to Reno for it, we could just process them together. I'll show you how, and leave the rest to you. How does that sound?
Wow, serious smoke! It looked pretty bad over here, but not as bad as that pic!
BTW, I got officially accepted as a blogger for the poultry magazine I mentioned. So if anyone would like to guest blog for me, I would love that. Two people contacted me already. It is NOT a paid gig, even for me...
I finally got the camera to transmit to the computer, and now it says there is completely nothing on the camera. Not a single picture. I really hope this is wrong. The only irreplaceable pics on the camera were of Aubrey's wedding, and I'd hate to lose those.
