I have not tried that. My wife and I discussed adding a "grow out pen" alongside the pen where the current flock is kept so they can get used to one another, but not have direct interaction. Thanks for the idea!
I have a small flock of Khaki Campbells with a Female to Male ratio of 2:1. I have hatched out of this flock with a 92% successful hatch rate. Open to trade for other eggs of any poultry breed so long as they are not a fighting or "Game" breed.

Hello-
So I am having a bit of a problem. I have my hens and roosters together that were raised from day old chicks last February. I have some juvenile pullets that I am attempting to introduce to the flock, and each time I introduce one it is killed. I sat and watched them for a while, the...
How long do you all who have experience with the cornish X keep them until "freezer camp day"? We are feeding them the grower starter 24% feed (DuMor). Also, any alternative suggestions on what to feed them that yields better results?
Thanks
I am raising some cornish crosses this first part of the year to try and see how they are compared to Red Ranger/Freedom Rangers. Anyone have any experience and or suggestions with this?
I am having a terrible time integrating my juvenile flock in with my current laying flock. The roosters seem to protect them, but then hens attack them. They have currently killed two of the 'newbies'- and I seem to believe they were pullets.
Hey!
We kind of went hog wild with the incubating the beginning of this season. We currently are incubating:
7- Bourbon Red Turkeys
10- Royal Palm Turkeys
17- Mallard or Indian Runner Duck Eggs
37- "Barnyard mix" chickens from a friend
6- "Barnyard mix" ducks from same friend
24- Ancona...
We are incubating 24 ancona duck eggs currently-- due in about 10 days. We got half of our supply from a guy in AL and the others from a lady in NC. We have raised saxony and indian runners, but we are excited to see what this experience brings us!
