    I'm sure its too low for adult chickens, but were starting out with 2 day old chicks. I'll move it higher as they grow. Any suggestions are welcome, I grew up on a farm in Iowa but as a kid I wasn't real interested in chickens(imagine that), so all of my chicken info. has come from BYC.

    I just installed mine today, simple design, seems like they should work well, they were recommended to me by folks that have used them and like them for the reasons that huntheads stated. I put mine in 2'' pvc attached to the coop wall and connected to a 40 gallon water barrel and no leaks so far.
