We are having the same issue. We are buying a house without an HOA but we just got the deed restrictions from 1974 and they say no chickens. A lot has changed since then. I'm not sure what to do to change this!

Here in Beaumont, Texas. We have all kinds of chickens, but I am looking for some Araucana eggs to hatch. We also have quarter horses, two mini horses, barn cats, 4 dogs, a parakeet, two kids, me and my husband. We are both school teachers and are enjoying summer!
I have had finches, parakeets, Cockatiels, lovebirds and a parrotlet. The finches were a blast, but they don't like to be handled. Parakeets are sweet birds. Our cockatiels were wonderful and sweet. I was not fond of the lovebirds. We loved our cranky little parrotlet.

As everything likes chicken, it could be almost anything. Raccoons, possums, HAWKS, other people's dogs, your dogs. If it is in the open pen, I would say hawks or dogs. At night, I would say raccoon, or fox. I don't know how far away you live from other people, but we live out in the country...
