What is THIS bizarre creepy thing I found in the nesting box?

First time trying to share pics here. And I've tried to add for pics and a video two ways - embedded and as a link. Sorry but these pics may be gross to some. And let me just say all hens are acting healthy as normal. That said, what is this thing I found in the nesting box? Thanks all...

    Partridge Rock Thread

Hi all, I posted quite a few pages back about my "partridge rock" look-alike that has feathered shanks. Today I finally got a picture. Not a great picture but a picture. She is my shyest bird and following her around with an iPad apparently creeped her out big time. LOL She came...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Thank you for reposting that image and hopefully, maybe this will be a pic of the actual whole body of what I hope is a pullet. Those are her feet in the pic above. Hatched 6/29/2012. I guess they are more like 4 months old. So much easier from a laptop. Sheesh. Here's the trio of...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Sorry, that doesn't work from an iPad. I have to take my son to a birthday party and then I'll come back and try from a desktop. Somehow. Thanks all.

OK, does this work? This should be a picture of the "button." [=https://www.dropbox.com/s/vvde5j0os4s21hq/2012-10-20%2015.24.11.jpg][/] EDIT: No. it doesn't.

They were hatched 6/29/2012. I took pics with this iPad, but...now what?

Sure but theyre EE mutts potentially mixed with Black Sexlink. If they're all Roos, they'll all look similar so hard for a newbie to tell. And EEs have pea combs right? So not a huge difference. I dunno. I can take pics sure, but have had little success getting them to post with this...

No one told me that. They just look like spurs coming in. So it is a guess. Am I wrong? Because if I'm wrong, I will do a little happy dance.

Do little round bumps on the back of my five-month-old chicks' legs really, really HAVE to mean that they are ALL cockerels? Really? Dang.

I've always heard that urine is "sterile" when it is expelled. of course, after it is peed out, it is apparently an excellent medium for growing things. I don't know if any of that is truly accurate though. I'm no expert on such things. Interesting idea!

There are teddy bears and such for human babies that have little electronic boxes in them that play recordings of human heart beats for them.

    Partridge Rock Thread

I have a Partridge Rock hen who just started to lay. I have been told that she is full-blood Partridge Rock, but she has feathered shanks. I have read comments that this is not standard for the Partridge Rock, but I checked out the SOP from my public library recently and the old 1920 SOP for...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Trying to post a link to a pic of the chicks using that dog waterer. Again, I realize this would not work for people who have more than about three chicks using it, but it has worked for us so far. :). Once they go out into the pen with the hens, they'll have outgrown this and can use the main...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

No, it was the pine shavings that were getting in the dish and soaking up all the water and pretty soon it was a dish of wet shavings, instead of a dish of water. One chick, particularly, seemed to delight in standing in the water then hopping out then hopping back in with shavings all over wet...

It might not work for everyone, but for our three chicks, this has been swell. Out of desperation because we were cleaning out the water dish three times per day still not keeping up with it, we started using this dog kennel waterer that we had lying around and it's worked great. Anyone else...

OK, I'll try it but it looks funny. And there's an error message that says my browser's not compatible or some such. Thanks for the tip and I'll see here if it works. Update: Looks okay. Thanks!

Al, you mentioned other forums with "real" chicken people on them. Which forums are those? I'm not planning to stop lurking on this thread, but I would appreciate checking out some other sites with reliable info too. Would you please share? Shelley P.s. Sorry, I can't quote previous post on...
