Alright, this sounds good. It helps sell the visit to the long suffering wife, so thanks. This is our first show, so we just visit to get an impression. I'm taking the hint though!
Where can I find more information, such as a schedule for this show? At njstatefair.org all I can find out is that the event is on 5/18, but nothing more specific. There seems to be an information session at 10, but is this for visitors, or people who show their chickens, or vendors? Are...
Thanks to this post right here I visited the show at Handy Acres farm today and went home with a modern game bantam rooster. Zach, I saw you, but was too distracted with manhandling the rooster to go and introduce myself -- sorry about that.

I know there are different colors of modern game bantams, but that would really be secondary. Any of them would be awesome. For a silkie rooster, hey, I think the black ones look nicest, but I'm sure the wife won't be picky either.

I know people have silkies, but does anyone in...
Does anybody know if there will be a Chik Chat this year? The kirbybros website doesn't have any events listed.
Also, is there somewhere a list of upcoming chicken related events in NJ?
Looking at backyardpoultrymag.com and mypetchicken.com, modern game bantams are described as not winter hardy. However, it's not clear how severe of a winter that means. Would they be happy as a backyard chicken in central NJ?
The Augusta show is more than an hour and a half away, so I'm worrying how we might transport any chicken we may buy. Actually I'm worrying about this no matter how long a drive it would be.
I may check out the thing in Medford although the coop won't quite be done by 3/10.
Also I found out...
Hey there, does anybody have an opinion on where to get three layers from in the West Windsor area? The coop is being built right now, and I'm looking to put hens in it an about a month's time. At this point I'm clueless where to get them from other than ordering chicks online, which I'm very...
