    We are from Waco TX originally, we moved here about 1.5 years ago. We decided we wanted to try a back to the basics lifestyle and the climate of a tropical type area won out as we could garden year round. It's certainly been interesting but we are loving it!

    They call it what sounds like hadenero. From what I can tell from googling I think it's most likely a type of bantem? The momma is about 1/2 the size (at most) of our red hens, the egg was about half the size of the other eggs. Run away to Costa Rica! We did that a bit over a year ago and...

    I took this one more picture. It's still not totally fluffy but it cools off so much at night I was concerned about the temp. So I took the chick and put it with the momma.. The momma fluffed right up and let the chick in so that seemed to go quite well. :) Praying I see a healthy chick...
