    She’s definitely a Maran! She looks just like them. My suspicion is that she isn’t laying yet and that my Sussex is laying the creamy eggs.

    She’s given me two eggs. Both cream and tiny, but I’m sure they’ll get larger. One was in the nesting box and one was in the run.

    I’ve never had a pea comb hen before, but it’s most certainly not a full comb. It’s about half the size. Yes I agree under her feet are whitish/yellowish. A Jersey Giant? I’ll have to google some pics ;)

    I couldn’t catch her, but I got some pics as best I could. She’s got pinkish, mottled feet underneath. Definitely not all black under there. Her comb is very strange. I tried to get a close up. All my other girls the same age have full red combs. She’s just got a little pink nub.

    I’ll try it get some more pics of her today if I can catch her ;) I agree, unlikely that she’s rare. I’d just chalk it up to “hatchery quality,” except for the cream eggs and the fact that we have always used hatchery chicks and have never had such an anomaly.

    It’s a mystery! She does look like the black Sumatra pic, but not like other Sumatra pics...maybe I’ll figure it out when she’s fully mature?

    EggPlant in St Paul, but they use a hatchery in Iowa...I don’t know the name. Here she is as a day-old chick. She DID look like an Australorp as a baby, but the cream eggs are off.

    I ordered her as an Australorp and got her as a day old chick. This is my third round of hens, and my third Australorp. But now, she's 4.5 months old and not developed like a normal Australorp. She lays cream eggs, and not often. She only has a partial comb and it's not red or very developed...
