Hello all. I’m still kicking. We gave 22 hens & one rooster. We have a variety of breeds- barred rocks, different colored Orpington, copper Morans, Easter Eggers, & a couple ducks. We have an extremely large guard dog- half Komondor & have Great Pyrenees. One very spoiled Maltese & a tiny mixed...
Hello chicken lovers, I’ve been absent for several years but still raising chickens. Just checking in to see how all were doing? Is Speckled Hen still here?
That's very kind of you but I had forgotten this post && no longer need them at this time. U S post office has always destroyed most fertile eggs for me But I really appreciate your offer
I know right? Where we keep the chicks/chickens isn't wired for heat lamps. We'd burn the entire building down. We did stock up on 60 wt bulbs but they won't last long. I really didn't want all that smell in the house but I have around 50 chicks in the house now due to this crazy weather. There...
I have always used a sixty wt bulb over my chicks. A heat lamp proved way too much. We use a large size tote covered with hardware cloth with the lamp on top at one end
I am looking for some old English orpington pullets or chicks...just a few. i can pick up if you live around Hartville, MO or Mansfield, MO
Thank you so much
Thanks for the ovation but Specked Hen is the one who deserves it. 2016 & cd's still working. As far as spacing- I have since reduced lines to three lines per 20 ft run. It doesn't take much. Netting will be sufficient too
Cynthia, I have put your beautiful table runner back on my table for the fall...I'm jumping the gun, I know. ha ha It is so pretty, again, thank you very much. Hope your sewing machine issues get resolved. And most of all I am hoping you get that new machine faster than expected.
Yes you are right the white one does look like your gander thanks. Geese were hatched by one woman then went to another before she gave them to me so angel-wing was well established before I got him but thanks anyway
Yes you're right time for relatives to go both ways. It gives a person such a sense of accomplishment to see food on shelves that you have put up. I love it
