I am looking for some input on a week old welsummer chick I hatched.
He appears to be a bit different then the others. It is a bit lighter, has a white spot on it's back close to the tail and the "V" on the head is not a "V".
Any ideas? I would say he is a boy but I thought the top of the head...
I have 11 welsummer chicks and one appears to be a bit different then the others. It is a bit lighter, has a white spot on it's back close to the tail and the "V" on the head is not a "V".
It is a week old.
Any idea if the little guy is a cross or just a genetic thing?
I have a 2 month old that has sortta the same issue. Bottom beak does not line up with the top.
He has no problem eating but I am wondering if it will lead to more difficulties as he gets older.
Do I need to worry or take action?
I was checking my chicks for pasted up bottoms and noticed on one of them a lump that looked like a M&M stuck to her bottom. After careful observation, it looks like it is attached to where if a chicken had a belly button would be. Do I need to be concerned about this? It is a Barred Plymouth...
