    A brothers love

I love it and it's my favorite color too, baby blue. I would love the see the plans. It looks much bigger than 16x20. Mine is only 10x10 and still a work in progress. I didn't have any plans either and said I "just winged it" :)

POWER ANTENNA - voltage/amps, rod or string -

same thing here and I wasn't going to buy a used antenna from the junk yard for that price and not know if it would work. I got mine new from ebay for $9.99 and $14.99 shipping. If I had known all this, I would have just used what I had already purchased, but me not knowing anything about...

POWER ANTENNA - voltage/amps, rod or string -

the relay switch had a manual up/down lever .... I removed the wires from the relay and connected them to the timer. I guess I'm gonna have to hook up another relay switch and use a limit switch at the top of the door. I decided on the antenna because it would "be easier" than me having to...

does that wall slide underneath the nesting box? It looks like you used drawer slides, if so, that's a good idea

    Aquaponics

really nice pond. I'm sure it being in the ground and lined with cinder blocks helps to maintain the water temperature. Where are you going to find Malaysian freshwater prawns?

POWER ANTENNA - voltage/amps, rod or string -

I'll just be glad to get everything finished. Shutting the door in the evenings is no problem, I just want them to be able to get out of the roost early in the mornings.

POWER ANTENNA - voltage/amps, rod or string -

I've read that posts multiple times, but he's using 12v adapters and I don't have power at my coop or out building. I know nothing about amps, etc. or how long a battery will keep it's charge. Will I be recharging every day? Later, I would like to get a solar panel and would need the larger...

POWER ANTENNA - voltage/amps, rod or string -

I had previously bought the hardware to build an auto door with the relay switches, etc., but have since decided to use the power antenna. I purchased a Harada MQ1 Antenna Semi Automatic Antenna that is 12v. I also have a 12v timer. I've still got to buy a 12v battery, but I'm not sure what...

    DIY automatic coop door

I'm going to install an automatic door and have decided to use the antenna too. I have a motor and limit switches, but it's simpler with the antenna. What kind of solar system do you have set up? I don't have power in my coop or shed yet, so I've got to use batteries. Plus, I don't have to...

looks great, I know your grandpa would be proud. I have no idea how much I've spent trying to build mine myself, but it has been fun so far. LOL, one thing I've learned buying hardware online - you can buy just one. I buy at least 4-6 of everything, I figure I can use it somewhere down the line.

    We have Begun!

I like the rustic look of the fence posts. I can remember my daddy cutting down small pine trees and we'd skin them and use as rails

Automatic Chicken Coop door for only $5 bucks with a radio antenna from a junkyard

I just don't understand some people. My mother said my grandmother would always say some people "swallow a camel and strain on a gnat" ... my girls are quite noisy and bossy, so I don't know what will happen when they get in the big house

Automatic Chicken Coop door for only $5 bucks with a radio antenna from a junkyard

as long as it's taking me to build a coop, I hope I don't have any problems. If you have a garage, can't you build an aviary for your "big birds"? A friend of mine can't have chickens either and I suggested that to her. If people can have snakes and other reptiles in their home, why can't...

Solid walls for run to hide chickens from neighbors

I'm not through with mine, but that's what I did. If you look at it, it looks like a shed and if I get my privacy fence back up across the back, those neighbors won't be able to see the coop at all.

Very nice. And I wanted to see the floor episode :( ... no kidding. I'm trying to decide whether to use cinder blocks as a base for a greenhouse.

    Automatic pop door

what kind of timers are those? I've never seen one like that before. I got the digital one that comes with some of the automatic door kits, but haven't gotten finished with my coop or started on the door.
