I leave my broody in with the flock and simply sprinkle chick starter, or gamebird crumble over the layer pellets. The littles get the little bits and the adults like it too. Congrats.
I'm not new to chickens but I am new to this breed. Can anyone help me to sex them? Pretty obvious the Maran in the front is a cockerel and the one behind is a pullet but what about the 3 light Brahma? I know that the larger breeds tend to be slower to mature. What are your opinions?
Hello all. Been taking a break for a while. Glad to see Draye and Ridgerunner holding down the fort.
I don't know of anyone specificly having Araucanas in AR right now. Dr Bramwell had a line of them but he has moved to a different breed now. I had some of his several years ago.
Anyone...
Hey all. I've been on the road and then recovering from some kind of sickness. Just saw this elsewhere:
Don't know anything about this place, but this might be useful for some of you. :-)
Exactly!!! I kinda "stalked" and searched all over BYC for about a year before I even joined or asked any questions. Now I just try to ask questions when I can't already locate an answer since there are like a bizzilion threads that have already addressed most things.
Even funnier, when I do...
What I find really irritating is people who have obviously researched NOTHING before they ask a question that has been posed a thousand times.
The second most irritating thing is to ask a question and have people respond who obviously did not thoroughly read the question and think they are...
If you have a little neosporin wouldn't hurt. But, like the previous post stated, usually what you are showing will heal on it's own. Chickens are amazingly resiliant. Just keep an eye out for anything not healing up.
