Mine started to lay at 24/25 weeks. They have been laying for about 10 days now, all the eggs are perfect, a bit small, but great otherwise. Right now, they tend to lay every other day, but I know that will improve soon. So exciting.
24 weeks yesterday and we got our first egg... EVER...., see, we are newbies! So eggciting! I had just gotten home from the store with another dozen store bought eggs, and jokingly yelled across the yard, "you girls had better hurry up and start laying...or else". Went out to check the food...
This stinks! We only have 6 and that's all I can have. Looks like half might be roos. So, do I search for a hatchery that has 8 week old to add to mix?
These chicks are 8 weeks old. New at this. Bought at TSC as pullets. Judging from their combs..look like Roos to me. Looking at ones looking at camera. Thanks.
