    Bored hens?

Thanks for the input everyone, we have concluded that all our current flock must go to the stew pot and we'll start over with just 4 hens

    Bored hens?

Best plan I've seen so far other than a chicken cone and a new flock, will give your suggestions a whirl.

    Bored hens?

Which means reduce the flock, everything I have read says we have enough room but I can not help wondering about that.

    Bored hens?

We use layer feed and supplement with spinach and oyster shells, they don't eat the eggs, unless there is a rubber one. We have saw horses, hanging toys etc, when one is taking a dust bath two others will just start pulling feathers from her while she sqwacks.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll just go slow and budget for hardware cloth. If there's not six inches of snow I'll be able to get the run done.

That zoning ordinance was changed this year and my wife and I are planning on purchasing six Golden Comets in the spring. I bought a prefab coop which I have assembled and have set fence posts for an...

    chicken yard

Hi this is my first post here. The town we live in just approved zoning for up to six chickens all hens no roosters. I have similar questions about a chicken yard but mainly revolving around run construction. I have an 8x11 area with fence posts already set but I'm unsure about what wire to use...
