I rode with Joe Cantrel and the "The Spanish Trail" for 2010. What a wonderful week. This was the 10th year for me and my friends. If you ever get a chance to ride with any group, you will have to do it once. It will be the ride of a life time whether on a horse or in a wagon.
Congrats on your eggs!

I have 6 that should be laying any day now and I keep checking and asking my girls "Who's going to give Mommy and Egg today?"
They just look at me with silly little faces... "Give me a treat and I'll think about it!"
I do have a...

I have heard of giving sweet feed to animals to help with weight in the winter, but not as part of a normal daily diet or partical supplement.
If I heard the previous owner correctly, the sweet feed and laying feed was about 50%/50%. The girls are really...
Hello All -
I purchased 4 Production Red hens this morning approximately 12 months old. The new ladies are currently laying eggs each day and are in good health.
When asked about the type feed given to his ladies to prevent diet issues, DH & I were told that he gave part laying feed and part...
Kitty Box Crunchies or Chicken Box Crunchies - what ever you call them, my Box/Mix loves them - then again she licks frogs too.
Like you, SanClementeChick , I have the same problem
My girls stay in the coop/run, but my box mix will lick up a chicken fresh crunchie any chance she gets. I try...

Great looking girls! Wait until they get bigger... I'm still waiting for eggs.
It will be my luck... I'm traveling this week and the egg will show up - LOL!
Good Luck with yours and on the coop!
I had tail feather plucking going on with my little ones when I moved them out to the coop/run.
If you do not have bloody wound from the tail feathers being plucked, leave them be...
If you have a blood, the others will pick on tail area because they are drawn to the red wound. I put...
Mine is sitting next to me as I read BYC with one eye and watching a Tivo'd Criminal Minds episode with him after he slaving over a hot stove cooking me a turkey pot full of speghetti sauce while I had a Pedi/Mani and little quailty shopping time to myself this afternoon.
I'm so spoiled rotten...
I'm traveling in from Texas Sunday night for a 5 day stay a hotel in the Woodland Hills, for sales calls in the Semi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, Camarillo and some where in the Valley area.
Does that count?
It is ok to be worried, but I have to agree with the rest... The crops are full of feed.
My two week olds had large crops one evening when I got home and all the feed was gone.
I nearly freaked. I settle down after I read a post like this. The crops went down on some, but not by much on other...
It's after midnight here in Texas. I'm trying wined down after a Friday night Homecoming football game by reading Chicken related posts with one eye and Iron Chef with the other... Not an easy task, then... I run across this post!
I nearly woke up my DH who is dead to the world in Zzzzz-Land...
I thought I was the only one!
Mine are in their run and when I round the side of the garage with something in my hands and they beat a line to the corner of the run and then it's elbows and blank-blanks as they rush the walk through door to see what Mum has brought them... Crazy Chickens...
Although I am a registered Republican, I consider myself a conservative more than I do a Republican because there are those in the party who I do not agree with any more.
Since their really is not a true conservative on the ticket, I was very worried about this election until Sara Palin became...
