I have not had a problem with cleaning. Algae needs light to grow so in a solid pipe not a problem. I could unscrew the water cups and flush out if I needed to.
Thanks Todd
Never have a problem. However I am not that worried about it. The drink out of the mud, dogs dish and eat under the rabbit cages so not sure a little stain in a drinking cup will hurt them.
Yes they stay dry. The chickens remember where they got water and will come back and peck at it. They will not fill them. They get a couple drops in thebottom and drink that. They will do that over and over until they get enough but, the do not peck until it is full.
Sorry I did not respond sooner. Been working on a new rabbit barn. I have not had a problem with heat. However the coup is under a big oak tree and next to the shop. My chickens also free range during the day so most (not all) of the time they are not in it during the heat of the day. We...

This is a 5 pack that I got. Note that water does not stay in cup. After they learn how to use them they will go back and peck at it and water comes out...
Mine are always empty. When the want a drink they go poke around and water comes out and they drink it. There is never more that a very small amount in the bottom of the cup. I have had mine up for over a year now. zero problems.
