I agree with the Wyandotte’s. The worst ones I had were a Dominique and a Rhode Island Red. Mean boys!

Mine are named after 60s rock songs! My roo is Louie, Louie, my Dom hens are Good Golly Miss Molly and Lucille! The Ancona is Gina. I’m still in the process of naming the other three hens. they’re younger and I’m watching their personalities.

I do! I’ll have to take some more, now that they’re grown up. I love my roo, he’s so good with the girls and nice to me!

They are both interesting, fun birds! I especially love the Anconas, I had one before that was the best layer EVAH! She was friendly yet wild as a March hare, went over the fence every day and traipsed around the five acres I live on. I miss Gina so much!

Well, I have nine, 2 Black Australorps, 2 Hamburgs, 2 Anconas, two Dominiques, and a Wyandotte mix roo. I really miss my speckled Sussex, though.

Check your local feed stores. Some of them will take roos. We have one near us whom, for three dollars, will take your roo, put him in a cage and people can come in and take them. The turnover is very fast.

my faves are Speckled Sussex and the Ancona. The Ancona is a funny bird, be prepared, they are a handful! But the best layer I’ve ever had.

I love my Ancona. She lays more eggs than any of the other girls, is independent, and is the most entertaining chicken I've ever seen as well as being striking in appearance!
