    Chocolate barred wyandotte bantams

The problem may be with your male. Switching to another male, even a Chocolate may take care of your problem. It is at least worth a try.

    Ginger Red And Opal Colors?

It tends to "brighten" phaeomelanin. This is most evident in My Fawn Ginger Reds. Could also be more evident there because of the Db gene.

    Ginger Red And Opal Colors?

Opal also needs to be test bred against Homozygous I/d I/d Dun to help establish Dominant white allele. I will be able to do this next year.

Good birds WyandotteTx, Proper black tails. I did not expect you to do it any other way, because you know what breeding to the Standard means.

One of my hens has a partial Black tail and the other is Pencilled. This is a problem throughout most of the Pencilled pattern Wyandotte bantams. It is not as bad in the large fowl yet. It is brought on by breeding for intense and crisp pencillings, and because judges will still place birds like...

Looks good, now if we could just get tails colored like that in the bantams we would be on our way back to the Standard.

We all need to try to put the Black back in the tails of the Silver Pencilled and Partridge females. I am starting with Partridge this year and that is my main objective. Breed to what the Standard calls for not the FADS. Also watch closely for "bunny tail" because this is contrary to the...

You usually don't have to cross single comb in, its already there. It is only needed in the males any way. Nothing wrong with it , you just can't show them. If you have a single comb show up with almost perfect markings would you cull it or use it to perfect your Rose combed birds? If a single...

Rose comb (pure two genes for Rose) have lower sperm motility linked with the gene for rose comb. The link is broken if another gene for comb type is matched with a gene for rose comb. In Walnut combs ( four genes for comb type, combination of Rose and Pea combs) if the bird has two genes for...

Donna, would be better if I could hold them to figure out what they are. Silkie down is sometimes difficult to figure out what they are going to be. Too much variability in down colors with them. I have seen almost Black down grow up to be light Partridge,so trying to say right now would only be...

    The Wyandotte Thread

Single comb gene in Rose comb breeds improves fertility due to the fact that there is a flaw in PURE Rose comb. Fertility is lower for pure rose comb, but if you have some birds heterozygous for single comb fertility improves greatly. You cannot tell the difference in Homozygous and heterozygous...

When shipping eggs they need to be marked Pressurized cabin only. When they are air shipped and put in an unpressurized cabin the air cells rupture when high altitude is obtained. I have received shipment like this in the past also.
