    My broody silkie hatched 2 refrigerated eggs. Like you, I didn't think they would hatch, but out they came. They are still doing great.

    Sorry to hear about your RIR. Hope the eggs all hatch for you. 5 for 5 on my full size fowl mix eggs. And it looks like one will be barred. WOOHOO. Unfortunately I lost one and almost lost another to an over eager hen. My fault really, as the fence to block the hen box wasn't sturdy enough...

    Incubation temp question

    A still air incubator will have various temperature levels because the heat rises. If it was me, I would target my target temp in the middle of the eggs and I would go a bit warmer than your last time as it did not have really favorable results.

    I am relatively new to this as well but I would not recommend washing them. Have you candled the eggs? With the candling I have done, basically after day 15, if they are viable, I have difficulty seeing through the eggs. As it is only 5 more days, I would probably wait.

    My broody is still protecting like a champ..I do have a question though, do you leave your broody in the coop, block them off from the others, or what? I tried moving the nest to a tractor so she could be alone, but my broody wanted nothing with that. I put them back in her box, and she calmed...
