who cleans up after the Tilapia? It's an Aquaponic system so the fish waste gets pumped onto gravel growbeds in which we grow vegetables, fruit and cut flowers. If the solid build up becomes too much in the growbeds we introduce earthworms, so the answer is... EARTHWORMS.- synaptoman

Just joined the forum to answer any questions re: our chicken experiment on my blog. YES, we do rotate the chickens for "toilet duty" and NO, they don't seem stressed out at all. An algae pond is high on our list of things to do and once again chickens will be used to provide the nutrients...- synaptoman
