I agree! my buttercup must be a fluke because she is a lap chicken! i've never seen her try to fly and she loves to sit in my lap all day if i let her!
Wow you guys are super helpful. Thanks for pointing me towards breeders. I'm going to wait and see how the first year goes with these ones. they aren't even outside yet but I have a silkie that still could be a roo and i always worry about losing some to natural predators and such.

I'm in lynnwood and am just starting my own chicks. They range in age from three weeks to six weeks. Just found out I have 2 roos! oh no! can't have them in lynnwood (don't want them anyway) I got these from bothell feed center but i think i'd like to get chicks from a breeder in the future. any...
I absolutely love my sicillian buttercup. I'm not sure of how rare they really are cause I picked one up at a feed center no problem. Mine is my "lap chicken" waiting eagerly to be picked up. Loves sleeping in my hands.

I am so peeved right now. My black sex link had no spot on it's head at all and now it has barring! I feel like I was robbed! The whole point of sex linking is to avoid this! *SIIIIGH*
I will have to try that. I just figured that any chickens that weren't pretty normal would generally not make it through the first few days. If she's just a little bit of a slow chicken that's not really a big deal but if she's sick or something i'd be so sad. Off to the store for some vitamins!
I have a four week old sicilian buttercup. She is sweet as pie...almost too sweet. I am wondering if she might be retarded (is there such a thing in chickens?) She falls asleep in my hand almost instantly, her balance is horrible, i recently was cleaning some dried poo off her bum and she can't...
Oh no...I have two 4 week old barred rocks and i'm just sure one of them is a roo, of course it's my favorite one and we can't have them where i live....i'm devastated
