    Hi Sherry, To answer your question most people have 2 freezers and fridges and a large pantry of sorts. Costco and Cash and Carry are your friends. I go grocery shopping in bend about once a month. That is why i got chickens... so I dont run out of eggs! haha

    It is by Christmas Valley and Silver Lake. 90 miles southeast of Bend, 100 miles west of Burns, and 100 miles north of Lakeview. Pretty much the middle of nowhere, but I love it. I grew up here and came back after getting my teaching degree.

    Help me identify the mystery chick!

    I looked closer at the chicks and I can see an itty bitty ridges of the buff orpington chicks combs, but cannot see anything on the mystery chick. Don't know if that helps. I would love to hear some opinions.

    I dont really know how to tell the type of comb when they are so young, but its legs are deep yellow/orange. Also the tip of its beak is more red than yellow.

    New to chickens. Just got my chicks from murray mcmurry. This is some pictures of my mystery chick. After much research I am leaning towards golden laced wyandotte, but I have really no idea. It is clean legged if that helps.
