Eggbert hatched out of the wrong end of his shell (the air sack was still completly intact when i fished th shell out afterwards), he was also early, hatching on day 20, but he had pipped on day 19!
He was the only one to hatch out of 6 and so i decided as he was going to be lonely that i went...
Well i am now officially on day 21 and absolutely no signs that the other 5 eggs in the bator are doing anything.... Poor eggbert is going mad in there by himself! I am going to take him out soon i think. I can't believe the others have done nothing yet since they all looked fine in on day 18...
LOL i am seriously going to be 'on edge' while away! However it might take overnight to hatch as the pip is now very large! this little guy really want out! lol
OMG my first pip! I am soo excited lolNow question is.... I am going away tonight untill tomorrow afternoon/early evening, do you think they would all be fine untill i get back? I mean, they need to stay in the bator for a while to dry out anyway, so even if they hatched over night i wouldn't...
Aww i love to hear that everyone has babies :) I am in Lockdown as of tomorrow, so crossing my fingers like mad that i get some babies of my own this time!
Ok so i am now on day 18, lockdown tomorrow! I have got just the 1 Silkie egg that has made it as the others were not fertile and 5 of the Polish Chamois. There is a suspecious looking Chamois one though but am gonna risk it though as i am unsure.... So with any luck is should have some...
The humidity was about 80% so i am confused as to what happend and yes they didn't make it! Very sad :( I am just setting some more today so hopefully i shall have better luck next time :)
So after my disaster last week with my first batch i am going to try a second lot on Monday. I have 6 Golden Silkies and 6 Polish Chamois to set, i hope this batch turns out ok! Anyone who wishes to join me as buddies is welcome, so excited to be trying again!
So i have been really worried about them all day and still not hearing anything i decided to have a look and candled them..... Well Eggbert (the moving cherping one yesterday) was motionless and just doing nothing... Looked like he had gone through the air sack and tried to pip as you can see...
I have herd and seen nothing all day today! Have just got a horrible feeling something has happend to them :( they were due yesterday evening so i know its still early days, but for them to be moving n cheerping and now not to be doing annyything, is a little concerning :( Is that actually...
