since these were taken, we have added more roosts...
Does anyone else have a duck that patrols the yard? My Pekin will chase away all wild birds and chipmunks and squirrels in our yard while she and the chicks are out roaming around....it is the cutest thing :)
My girls are 2 weeks old today and I have been noticing when I take them out to stretch their legs and forage in the yard they will run up to one another and bump chests...Is this some kind of pecking order behavior I am seeing? So very cute to watch them interact with each other
Does anyone use solar lighting for their hen house? I have no power near the hen house and would like to look into solar lighting options....Suggestions, comments?
This is Sherman...a wild baby bunny I am raising....he and his siblings were dug out of their burrow and he is the lone survivor:) he is thriving and is such a little cuddle bug!
My fear is that she is not getting enough food...she is very very thin, you can feel her breast bone, there is no meat along the sides of it....I did take her to our exotic vet and she is gonna trim her beak and observe her eating for 24 hours...she did feel she is very thin...keeping my fingers...
Should I be trying to feed her wet food thru a dropper/syringe as well as offering the food in a deep dish? The poor little thing, my heart just breaks for her, I really want to do all I can for her:)
a friend just brought me a young chick today with a twisted beak. She was hoping that my little ones will be more accepting of her than the chickens she has...I guess they peck at her a lot :( Anyway, my question is, is there some special way she needs to be fed? All thoughts and suggestions...
