Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

I work at a local feed store and recently I had a situation that blew my mind. A customer brought back her incubator, fine no big deal, "Whats going on that it's not working?" She comes out with shes only doing it because she and her family just moved to the area, the kids had hatched eggs in...

This isn't much help, hopefully someone with some more experience will have advice, but my babies are the same, except I have a pair that roost. I'm hoping the others learn from example.

Sponsored Post New Giveaway: Try out the Southern States Poultry Pal App for a chance to win!

Just a touch dissappointed with this app. Once I finally got it to download it kept crashing. I barley get into it and its forcing a close. If it finally works it locks up constantly when i get past manage my flock. I wish there was a bigger list of chicken breeds or the option to type in your...

*sigh* That's what I was afraid of, out of the five birds I bought as straight run I ended up with four roos and one hen, oh well that's what I get for not buying mature birds.

Trying to start breeding Lav Ameraucanas

Have you looked outside your immediate area? I know it's expensive to ship birds. I had to do it, had to order some English Oprhingtons out of state and man I paid for it. What about getting stock that carries the genetics to produce Lavs?

Trying to start breeding Lav Ameraucanas

Been there, done that! When I set out to start raising lav orpingtons I had the same problem. Till I got my foot in the door with a small breeder just a few hours from me. I took the time and went to see her operations, really invested in understanding what she's breeding for and even walked...

What is so "bad" about buying feed store chicks?

Most of my chicks, the exception being my lavender orphs, came from our local feed store. But since I work there I know what I'm getting. If you get a person who knows enough about chickens to watch over them, make sure they are in the correct bin and make sure they are labeled, your good. But I...

    best priced hatchery

I have had good luck from Welp in the past, have yet to lose a chick from a shipment even in our spring- winter storms, had chicks arrive a day late after our latest blizzard and all were alive, just a bit hungry. But after Meyer's response I'd go with them! What great customer service!
