    Just found this, and it says a breed defect of the African is lack of dewlap. That was the only thing throwing me off. http://www.domestic-waterfowl.co.uk/african.htm#african I'm leaning toward African too, since she carries lower to the ground, and not as high as B Chinese.

    I didn't know Amer Buffs have knobs. At the top of the beak? I see on that site how some of them have bumps on their heads... What about the coloring. Buffs seem to be lighter. But those aren't the best pictures for them on that site, so hard to tell. Thanks for the link!

    African or Brown Chinese?

    Hi everyone. I have a three year old hen, not sure if she's African or Brown Chinese. She doesn't have a dewlap, so I'm thinking she's a Brown Chinese, but her neck doesn't seem to be as long as those, and she's a bit bulkier. Any opinions?
