Can button quail live happily in a jungle?

Thanks for the tip! I want habitat . . . not green chick feed!

Can button quail live happily in a jungle?

Small yes . . . boring no. Remember . . . Thunder and Lightening are now living in a "jungle" which will soon have it's own lake for dust baths. From their vantage point it has no resemblance at all to a normal Vision cage environment or the cages shown on that link I gave. I'm determined to...

Can button quail live happily in a jungle?

I'm not letting Thunder and Lightening see these photos - they will probably go green with envy about the cage size . . . but they would probably perk up with they realized they have MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more foliage and hiding spots!

Can button quail live happily in a jungle?

I'm planning on covering the bottom of their cage with Astroturf this weekend. I figure if I cut 2 pieces the size of the cage I can easily swap it quickly for cage cleaning. It would be great to have extra "jungle" to do the same with but at $15-$20 a plant (and I have 9 plants in their jungle)...

Can button quail live happily in a jungle?

Awesome! That is fantastic news for Thunder and Lightening. Their home is a vision cage which has a food tray at one end and a water tray at the other with drop down panels for easy access. They seem to have been having a ball since all the foliage suddenly appeared and it's great news to find...

Can button quail live happily in a jungle?

I'm looking for some experts at raising indoor button quail to reply back with your thoughts on the subject of cage decorations. One of my buttons just started laying eggs. I wanted the pair to have some type of spot to hide in the cage and I also wanted the female to have somewhere to lay her...

    Help-I've lost a button quail!

Thanks! I can't believe Lightening was out hiding for over 1 1/2 hours in a space that's only about 325 sq feet and I couldn't find her anywhere. And I have no idea how she got back to her original hiding spot. It only proves that the name I selected for her truly fits her! Wonder if they make...

    Help-I've lost a button quail!

Update - I found the little creature. Seems like she enjoys snuggling under my loveseat. That was the first place she went to when she escaped. Then after flying/running all over the apartment and sneaking away out by the kitchen she ultimately returned to the livingroom! New question . . ...

    Help-I've lost a button quail!

Ok-this sounds kind of lame but I have seriously lost a button quail in my apartment while I was transferring them to try to clean their cage and positively determine their sex. Lightening (and yes . . . there is meaning to that name . . . light yellow and quick as can be) got away once again ...

Need Help - Diamond Dove Plucking Feathers Really Bad

The male was bowing and cooing with wings flapping and tail feathers in the air and then I actually saw them mating. The female wasn't - just increased hopping around and some wing flapping. Once separated the male continued with bowing and cooing with wings flapping and tail feathers in the air...

Need Help - Diamond Dove Plucking Feathers Really Bad

I've had one diamond dove since December. I got him at the same time as a java sparrow. They have been housed together with no problems. I recently added another diamond dove. When I initially placed them in the cage together there didn't seem to be any problem with the new dove initially. The...
