    hhmmmm? we get to -15 degrees C... ? and need to put vasilean on there combs and wattles.. is that cold enough to do a full lock down?? i clean out EVERY morning to prevent amonia build up. and they are shut up completley every night.!!! the coop is open through the day till they go in...

    my girls were put on antibiotics for a week then vitimins in there water for a week. and with treets of fresh veg and some fruit they perked up a treat. even had a couple of double yolkers... worth getting stool samples checked through your local vet.

    fantastic info. mealworms are so funny . they run from the other side of the garden tripping over each other to get to them... and they make it so easy to get them back to the saftey of the pen if im going out. we get a lot of foxes round here as we back onto a country park, so if im not around...

    fantastic article my girls are meal worm addicts, so kept for shaking in tub to get home "as per your suggestion" they run so fast to the shaking tub they trip over each other to get to it. friends think its hilarious with there heads bobbing about charging towards me.

    yup i love the way they snap at the midgies at the water bowl in the morning and night. and the slug numbers are definatly down, my mum puts upside down pots out to collect slugs as a treat for them. and they know when she visits there are jucy treats in store.

    mine is a cross but started at 20weeks patience is not my strong point but it can be 24 weeks and they lay approx 250 per year . i check coop at lunch time as they need to get up and fed before settleing to lay.
