The previous owner told me she had cataracts. I can start antibiotic tonight. I took his word for it. she can see. she reacts when I walk by, but does not roost so I know she can't see good. I read a few of the threads. going to put the triple antibiotic cream on her. treating them with...
I just got this new hen - a white pair actually. but the hen I was told has cataracts. here are some picts. is there any way we can help her or does she just have to live like this? any ideas? I didn't know cataracts would make her eyes swell like that. other wise she seems fine - health wise...
that would suck. I can't see getting any animal without thoroughly researching it first to make sure it'd have a good home here. you don't get animals just because you want them. you have to give them a good home. it looks like you give all your birds a great home. I love the picts of you...
ok, last picts of these chicks i'll ever have. They seemed so sad to leave :(
I hope this lady takes good care of them. She has chickens and I warned her about black head. I worry when people don't do they're research before taking them home...
I already miss having them running around...
That's how I feel too. She just seemed so interested, came to see them and all... well talked to her today, family emergency and she says she'll be here tomorrow by 8 am. I've never had anyone not show up before.
anyways, I'm gonna post picts tomorrow after catching them again. the difference...
ok so I've read the whole post. here's my situation. I have three chicks, two male one female. all have the same father - I only have one bs male. one male chicks is ib - I have 4 hens two are ib. one ib is pied and one is loud pied. this chick shows no white flights, or patches. either way the...
in gonna try and get good pictures over the next few days and post them for comparison. next day she can pick them up is weds. if she doesn't call by then i'll call the next person on my list.
thanks for the picts :) I have a three year old purple bs hen I raised from a chick but I never had a bs male from a chick for comparison. three years into this and sometimes I feel like I still don't know a thing :) she didn't show up. but she called yesterday later. so far nothing today. it...
and I have peachicks raised by chickens too, never had any problems. when the chicken hens raise them their with other chickens and ducks and free ranged. so far never lost one and they're always super healthy. momma hens always protect them so never any problems with other chickens pecking...
now I've never had one alone and added hens. but in my (very little) experience. if they're friendly they're friendly and having friends does not change that. they'll all have different personalities and different ways they'll treat you. What I did was I had 4 chicks, one died. the three left...
wish I had one of those, I usually wear a hoodie, but thought the chicks would be easier on me :)
but ya know what birdrain92. the lady didn't show up yesterday so I had to catch them again today for her. I looked at them closely for a long time. you are right, one of the bs is grey not black...
Thanks :) I know the pictures are bad. only have the camera on my phone. actually the bs pea chicks look almost exactly the same, any differences are just my phone - plus I should have said that in the picts where they're roosted there's a window about a foot away from them on the right making...
These are my bs chicks at 7.5 weeks. judging by the size of your chicks crest I'd say its almost as old as mine. prob 6-7 weeks.
id say yours is a purple bs male. purple bs chicks show a lot of that rusty color all over their bodies. male bs chicks start to turn black while females may show a...
