I just picked up an egg from one of my girls which shell is very thin and almost like jelly, like a membrane. Any reason to be worried.
I'm grateful for any feedback...thank you
What kind of greens , like lettuce or arugula or radicchio can chickens eat? I have a Salad mix with Spinach, romaine, oakleafs, lola rosa, tango butter lettuce...can they eat it?
my hens were molting all at the same time...some still are. I understand your frustration. I was told to give them more protein. So I am treating them with some yoghurt each morning. I'm not sure if it really makes a difference but I am getting some eggs no
Hi everyone
one of my young sexlings has an unusual big comb which I heard is not a bad thing, only now she got a few wart like looking spots on it. Is that something I'd need to worry? I'm thankful for any response. thank you
I was hoping that someone else would be dealing with the same problem. Now I believe they are just taking a break...as I mentioned..it is the "calm before the storm". Our girls are fine...they will pay you back in abundance. As long as they seem to be happy, eat well, all is good. I refuse to...
thank you for your reply. I was thinking of that factor, too. But 3 months?...it seems unlikely, doesn't it.
they were all very productive hens. I know molting decreases egg productions. It just seems so strange that not even a single egg has been laid for so long.
my flock of 7 ladies went through a period of molting and the entire egg production stopped. I learned that's normal when they molt. The molting is over though but yet they haven't started laying a single egg. I haven't had an egg for 3 months now. The girls look great, eat well, behave like...
the more they see you and get treats from you the more comfortable they get...some breeds more than others.
But I was several times surprised how suddenly a girl jumps on my lap or simply lets you pet her...let them make the first move...:)
good luck....
