    thank you for your reply. I was thinking of that factor, too. But 3 months?...it seems unlikely, doesn't it. they were all very productive hens. I know molting decreases egg productions. It just seems so strange that not even a single egg has been laid for so long.

    How do you make your chickens more comfortable with you?

    the more they see you and get treats from you the more comfortable they get...some breeds more than others. But I was several times surprised how suddenly a girl jumps on my lap or simply lets you pet her...let them make the first move...:) good luck....
